U.S. Consulate General Visits Iqraa Trust

project pict USConsulateUSA Consulate General Mrs. Sherry Sykes and Mrs. Hala Rharrit the Political/Economic Chief visited Iqraa Trust on 17 January 2018. Iqraa Trust’s chairman, Dr. Mahmoud Youssef Baker briefed them on the Trust’s support for a wide range of projects in education and skills development, health care initiatives, and youth development and climate change and environment.

The Consul General briefed both Dr Baker and Dr Rudi Kemmie, the Trustee of Iqraa, on the various aid programs provided by the USA government to South Africa with a specific focus on the NGO sector.

The two parties have agreed to exchange information on future programs with the objective of working together when possible in areas such of common interests such as promoting strong health systems, education and Fulbright exchange programs offered by USA to South African students.
