R100 000 Donation Towards The Implementation Of The Programmes Of The Ubuntu Education Fund

project Ubuntu-Education-Fund

Iqraa Trust has contributed R100 000 towards the implementation of the Ubuntu Education Fund’s programmes. Ubuntu Education Fund operates out of the Ubuntu Centre, a 25,000 square-foot state of the art complex in the heart of Zwide Township, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Organisation is rooted in the community and plans to remain that way.

Ubuntu works with orphaned and vulnerable children in the townships of Port Elizabeth to fundamentally change their lives. Interventions include:

  • Comprehensive household stability support to secure and stabilize families, creating safe environments for children to learn and grow.
  • Life-saving medical services that prevent debilitating diseases rather than simply treat symptoms
  • Quality supplementary educational assistance to help children access the worlds of higher education and employment, growing into healthy adults with stable incomes.

The Ubuntu Education Fund therefore, envisions a community in which children have access to the same facilities, opportunities and respect as their more privileged peers elsewhere in the world.
