South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind (SAGA)

Grant of R50 000 for the purchase of Computers

SAGA trains guide dogs as mobility aids for the blind and trains sighted students as orientation and mobility practitioners, the objective being to enhance the mobility, independence and dignity of blind and partially sighted people.

The R 50 000 Grant from Iqraa Trust will enable SAGA to equip the "Learning Centre" at its College of Orientation and Mobility with computers which will enable sighted students undertake research and undertake projects as part of a training course which will equip them to train blind persons in the skills of daily living and mobility using a white cane.

Assisting Students Financially by Providing Interest Free Loans and Bursaries
