Brooklyn Chest Hospital

Grant of R 50 000 for Improvements and Renovations for a School

project_BrooklynBooklyn Chest Hospital is a government-funded tuberculosis (TB) Hospital in Cape Town. It is the only TB Hospital in the Western Cape. Children receive treatment as in-patients for long periods at the hospital and therfore cannot continue with their education in the normal school environment. To provide for these children, the hospital has established a school on its grounds which needs to be improved and expanded.

Iqraa Trust has approved a grant of R 50 000 towards the renovation and improvement of an existing house which is being converted into an educational facility. This will enable the Hospital to provide a much more improved environment that will be conducive to learning and where the children receiving treatment can continue with their education without interruption.
